CIMCO Software 2024 is not only a major update with the latest security fixes, but also the start of a new year of point releases. Our Maintenance customers can expect to see more features, improvements, and innovations in the software they use throughout the year.
CIMCO Software 2024 also introduces a significant new feature for our NC-Base users: a new Web Client for CIMCO NC-Base. This is a simplified version of the PC client, with a clear focus on the options needed when working with NC-Base remotely, such as accessing and requesting files from the shop floor.
We will share more details about the NC-Base Web Client in the next few weeks. For now, you can download the first release of CIMCO Software 2024 and enjoy the benefits.
CIMCO Software 2024 is available for download here. To learn more about the 2024 version and how to upgrade, please contact your local reseller or contact us directly.

]]>The post Windows Defender detection of CIMCO software appeared first on CIMCO.
]]>We have reported this issue to Microsoft and are waiting for their response and resolution. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you and assure you that this issue is being worked on and has top priority for us.
We will update this page with a solution as soon as we have one, so please check back later. You can also contact support@cimco.com if you have any questions.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We hope to resolve this issue as soon as possible.
19/12 2023
With the latest versions of Windows Defender Security Intelligence we no longer see the false positive detection of CIMCO software. The customer reports that we have received also confirm this resolution.
We will continue to keep an eye on Windows Defender and urge you to contact us if you encounter any issues after updating to the latest version of Windows Defender.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

If you are still experiencing problems with Windows Defender, here is a way to easily deactivate Windows Defender for only CIMCO products. This method is safer than turning it off entirely.
On both Windows 10 and 11, open Windows Security.
In the sidebar, select Virus & threat protection and scroll down to the section Exclusions.
Click the link Add or remove exclusions.
Click the button Add exclusion and select Folder from the dropdown
Navigate to the CIMCO folder you wish to exclude and click the Select Folder button at the bottom.
The folder will now be excluded from Windows Defender detection.
Thank you for your patience and understanding. We can assure you that this issue is being worked on and has top priority for us.
16/12 2023
We are getting reports that the latest versions of Windows Defender Security intelligence no longer detects CIMCO software as harmful. However, we are still seeing the issue in some of our internal tests. We continue to work on the problem until solved. If you still experience problems with the latest versions of Windows Defender, please refer to the Temporary solution below.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.
15/12 2023
We are currently working on a solution with Microsoft. Until such a solution is released, we suggest the following temporary workaround.
On both Windows 10 and 11, open Windows Security.
In the sidebar, select App & browser control and then click the blue link to Reputation-based protection settings as shown in the screenshot below.
Under Potentially unwanted app blocking, click the option to disable this feature. See screenshot below.
Your CIMCO software product should now run as expected.
Please note: If Windows Defender is automatically set to remove or quarantine affected files, you might have to reinstall the software. You can download the specific software version you need from our website here.
We can assure you that this issue is being worked on and has top priority for us.
15/12 2023
It is our firm belief that it is indeed a false positive. Any of the affected binaries such as Localization.dll or License.dll can be uploaded to a site like VirusTotal and confirm that only Microsoft Defender flags the compiled binaries (see screenshot below). We can assure you that this issue is being worked on and has top priority for us.

]]>The post Axis Control in CIMCO Edit 2023 appeared first on CIMCO.
]]>Axis Control allows you to track the position of each axis during the simulation of your NC program. You will notice that any axis that runs over its travel limit is highlighted in red. Alternatively you can simply check the simulation report which reveals all collisions, syntax errors and travel limit errors.
In addition, you can scroll the mouse wheel to zoom in and out on each axis control bar which allows you to make fine adjustments and see it update in real time. Perhaps you want to see how much clearance may be required on a specific collision that has been reported? – with Axis Control you can now do this.
Feel free to contact us to learn more about Axis Control or download our free 30 day trial of CIMCO Edit to try it out yourself. Further information can also be found on these pages:

]]>The post Support for Brother and Hurco in CIMCO Machine Simulation appeared first on CIMCO.
]]>CIMCO Edit 2023 and CIMCO Machine Simulation supports many of the largest and well known CNC controllers including Fanuc, Haas, Siemens, Mazak, Heidenhain, Okuma, and more.
The creation of NC code can be made possible by post processors.
A post processor is essentially a translator that converts generic code, such as CL data (cutter location data), to NC code (numerical control code) for a specific control and machine. CL data is a generic representation of the toolpath that is independent of the machine or controller.
NC code is the code that contains the machine-specific instructions, such as G-codes and M-codes, that tell the machine how to move and perform the machining operations. The opposite of a post processor is a reverse post processor, which translates the NC-code for a specific controller to cutter location data that is required for backplot. When using machine simulation it also uses the selected machine configuration.
By supporting different types of reverse post processors, CIMCO Edit and CIMCO Machine Simulation can help users to edit, verify, and simulate their NC programs for various CNC machines and ensure that the quality and accuracy of the machining process is proved on your virtual machine prior to being sent to the physical machine.

]]>The post Timelines now available in the MDC-Max Web Client appeared first on CIMCO.
]]>Timelines are a key feature in the MDC-Max PC client, and now you can also use them in our webclient – as a new type of widget in Dashboards.
For those less familiar with Dashboards, they allow you to visualize and interact with the real-time production data of your machines in a graphical way. Dashboards are composed of widgets such as Bar graph, Pie chart, Value list, Gauge, and more. They can focus on different aspects of your shop floor, such as different facilities, machine groups, data complexity, or specific needs.
With Timelines, you can create customized dashboards for each machine or for your entire shop floor, by adding a single or multiple timelines along with other widgets such as Charts and Gauges. You can see the status of your machines over different timespans, such as the last hour or the last 7 days, and magnify an area to see more detail.
Hover over any color on the timeline to get more information about the machine state at that point, such as downtime reason, operator name, job number, part number, parts produced at that time, and more.
Timelines are updated in real-time, thanks to the latest web technologies that power our webclient and roll forward as data comes in. You don’t need to reload your browser to see the latest data from your machines.
In short, Timelines give you a quick overview and insights into your machine utilization over time. You can analyze the reliability and potential problems of each machine, as well as compare and contrast different machines or periods of time.
If you want to learn more about Timelines, please contact us or visit our product page to learn more about CIMCO MDC-Max – our machine data collection and monitoring solution.
